Hello from Vietnam

Hello from Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City

Hi guys I am back! :-))))))

My grandpa came all the way from California, U.S.A. to meet up with us!

First we settled into our hotel and went around the city and explored a little, then ate dinner and went to bed! The next morning we woke up early, around 5:30 - 6:30 ate breakfast and went out front and waited for a car that picked us up and drove us four hours to a boat where we went on a beautiful Mekong Delta River trip. It was so fun!

Unfortunately in some places we saw a lot of trash along the river, and it was sad and maddening that people carelessly throw trash in the river without even thinking about it at all! Problem is they have no place to put it. But, much of it was a magnificent view of Vietnam! We saw a lot of crazy fruit, farming (Fish farming that is), fishing in the river, cool ferries going back and forth full of mopeds, and people bathing in the river!

My Dad and I played catch in the jungle and I signed the ball we played with and gave it to a kid there. I also used one of the local bathrooms. See the picture!!!

Also, I played soccer in the street with a few kids in Ho Chi Minh City and had a blast! The kids were about my age (11) and were nice and very good at soccer. They played in sandals, flip flops, and even bare feet. There was a lot of glass and rubble around and also mopeds driving right at you! Ahh is right!

We have been to a lot of markets and you have to bargain a lot! I know you are wondering what is bargaining? Well it is getting the set price down to your desired price! It is really cool! :-))))))!

We went to the War Remnants Museum in Saigon. It is about the Vietnam War, but Vietnamese call it the American War, I don’t have much to say about this. It was really pretty intense and sad :-((((( !

Next we go to Yangon, Myanmar/Burma.

In Myanmar/Burma, We (My Dad, Sister, and I ) are going to the center of the country to go to a elephant sanctuary, and to go work in a village!

BYE! :-))))) !

I will update you soon :-))))) !
